Edna’s Quilt

Folks who grow up on the ocean inspire me as much as the ocean itself. They are resourceful, appreciative and thoughtful. Like my husband’s mom, who made everything that graced the backs and beds of her family and everything in between. This painted piece is for her, the memory of someone I heard lots of but was never lucky enough to meet. And the wood it is pained on is salvaged from the trees her son used to build us a house, once again proving that the ocean raises incredible talent on it’s shores, generation after generation.
